Sunflower Class 2015/2016
September 2015. Our Class Charter.
Here is our Topic Letter for Spring Term
Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely Christmas break and Santa brought you everything you wished for! A new year is upon us already and we are ready and raring to go!
Please make sure that children’s names are in all parts of their uniform as they are easily mixed up particularly after PE because they all look the same. PE will take place on Wednesday and Friday.
The children have a named tray in which they put their book bags and are encouraged to put their jumper in during the day.
Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school. There are still some available to buy from school
Literacy and Maths continue daily.
We will continue with Read Write Inc. The children read daily in small groups and will bring home a sheet with the new sound that they have been learning. These can be kept at home for the children to practise. Please try to find a few minutes to support your children practise their sounds and read the new words.
Our topic to start the year will be ‘Continents of the world’. We will be finding out about the 7 continents around the world as well as some of the countries within. In our geography topic we will be looking at the location of the continents in the world and identify some of their countries and features.
Our science topic this term will be looking at and investigating all living things and light.
As a whole school we will be studying Gorillas, linked to the very popular texts by the author Anthony Browne.
Many thanks for you continued support.
Michelle Jones, Pauline Glenville and Adelle Redmond.
