KS1 and KS2 Sports Days- Information for Parents

Sports Week

This year we have decided to hold separate Sports Days for KS1 and KS2 as part of our annual Sports Week activities.

Thursday 29th June: Key Stage Two

For children in Year 3, Year 4, Years 5 and 6, parents are invited to their Sports Day on Thursday 29th June.

Please drop the children off as normal in the morning at 8.45am to allow them to be registered and get changed for their sporting event. Bacon butties with a tea or coffee (£2.50) will be on sale for visitors in Moss Munch from 9am and we ask that you are seated outside for 9.20am ready for the children to be brought outside. The children will take part in races from 9.30am before returning back to class for 10.20am. The children will be able to purchase a bacon butty and juice drink for £2 during their break time after the sporting event. Money for this is to be handed in to their class teacher at the beginning of the day.

Please note that children in the Infants will not be attending this event with their Sports Day being held the following day.

Friday 30th June: Key Stage One

For children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, parents are invited to their Sports Day on Friday 30th June.

Please note that children in the Juniors will not be attending this event with their Sports Day being held on the Thursday.

We kindly ask that you encourage the children to stay in their teams and not wander across the track towards visitors. As you will appreciate, we need to carefully ensure the safety and know the whereabouts of all pupils at all times so the children will not be able to sit with you during the event.

Both days will be dependent on dry weather as we will be unable to host the events inside …let’s hope for nice sunny weather! We will check the weather forecast the day before the event and inform you should it be necessary for it to be cancelled. Please check the website for any updates. The children will be provided with caps to protect them from any sun, however, should it be sunny please remember to keep your child topped up with sun-cream as they will be outside taking part in lots of sporting activities all week. Water bottles are also advisable.

We look forward to welcoming you to come and watch the children’s sporting events and hearing you cheer them on!
