The Educate Awards have been receiving applications from schools across the North West again recently and Mrs Wood and Mr Hird gathered all the information needed for our school to make it’s bid. Netherton Moss has been very successful in the past two years, winning the title of Outstanding Arts Award for our fantastic productions. Well, this year’s bid is for last years play, The Timekey Travellers, and we’re delighted to say it has been selected to go through to the final four. We are all quite giddy and hoping it will do well – you never can tell as some of the other bids sound very exciting too. We will find out how well we’ve done on Friday 21st November.
However, this year we thought about some of the other fantastic projects and activities we do in Netherton Moss and wondered if they might be considered for other categories at the Awards.
We have a brilliant time during Sports Week, where everyone participates in so many different activities and are so supportive to each other in their different teams. So why not try for the Sports Award?
We’ve recently invested in iPads and found they have really boosted our creative approach to writing making multimedia books with videos, maps, music, graphs, and of course, fantastic writing. Why not try for a Literacy Award?
So Mr Hird rattled off two more bids and guess what?!
They too, have been included in the final selection for their award categories as well!!
We are really surprised, delighted and a little nervous as only a small number of schools from Sefton have been selected for these awards.
Cross your fingers and anything else for Friday 21st November! It would be wonderful to win an other award and show to everyone how clever and talented the children of Netherton Moss are!
